ABQ Slams Grand Slam to be Hosted by Jason Carney

Spoken Word and Slam Legend, Jason Carney, is set to host the ABQ Slams Grand Slam in March of 2015 at The Outpost Performance Space. The show will take place on March 28th, but Jason will be performing around the Duke City, including a Sunday Chatter appearance, for that weekend. Stay tuned for more details!

Mercedez Holtry Wins the ABQ Slams Women’s Championship

Twelve of Duke City’s best poets competed to represent Albuquerque at the Women of the World Poetry Slam in March. Before a sell-out crowd at The Outpost Performance Space, Mercedez Holtry took first place after an exciting tie-breaker.

Mercedez will slam against 72 of the best spoken word artists at the Women of the World Poetry Slam, March 18th-21st right here in Downtown Albuquerque, NM.

ABQ Slams Poets Rep the Duke City at IWPS

ABQ Slams City Champion, Mercedez Holtry, places 31st at the Individual World Poetry Slam Championship in Phoenix, AZ, including a 2nd and 3rd place finish in the 4 and 3 minute rounds. Also, Damien Flores won the Last Chance Slam and advanced all the way to the finals, finishing in 6th place. Good job, poets!
